ENG 3060J Modern Poetry

This course explores the cultural and aesthetic contexts of modernity as these are represented in Modern poetry of the Western tradition, with particular attention to Anglophone poetry. Students examine Modern poetry’s early influences, characteristic techniques, formal innovations, thematic concerns, major practitioners, and movements (Imagism, the Harlem Renaissance, etc.) (Previously NJCU Course ENGL-306)
