PAS 6350 SUPERVISED CLINICAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE: EMERGENCY MEDICINE
This 4-week supervised clinical practice experience provides the student with practical experience in the care of patients in the emergency setting. Under the supervision of a clinical preceptor, the student will apply knowledge gained in the didactic phase to actual care of patients as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team. The emphasis of this experience will be on the coordination and collaboration of medical and surgical care in the emergency setting. Students will become familiar in the diagnosis, treatment and management of the patient while taking into consideration the additional concerns of the patient presenting with an emergency condition. Students will participate in the care of the patients and will be evaluated on the knowledge, skills and behaviors expected of PA student member of the healthcare team in emergency medicine.

Successful completion of the first year of the Physician Assistant Studies Program
