MUS 2884 JAZZ IMPROVISATION III

This course is a continuation of MUS 2883, Jazz Improvisation II. Class time is focused on the study of more advanced harmonic and rhythmic concepts inside jazz improvisation. Continued reinforcement is also given to the more foundational jazz skills. This course will develop further exploration of the jazz improvisational tools: harmonic language, scales, modes, chord progressions and melodic development. Students practice the applications of these musical elements through composition, individual practice, and extensive classroom performance.
