MCC 5310 American Language and Culture

Course examines how the cultural mores of contemporary America society are expressed through the medium of American English. Candidates examine how the English language expresses mostly unspoken cultural assumptions and develop strategies for teaching college students various aspects of pragmatics that are governed by culturalnorms.
