PA 3383 FUND DEVELOPMENT AND GRANT WRITING

This course introduces students to the full process of finding and securing funding for public and nonprofit organizations. It covers how to identify funding needs and opportunities, write strong grant proposals, and manage grants once they are awarded. Students will build practical skills in grant writing, such as writing clear and convincing proposals, creating logic models, planning budgets, and designing evaluation and sustainability plans.

In addition to grant writing, the course also explores broader fundraising strategies, like building relationships with donors, creating fundraising plans, and finding different sources of income to support an organization’s long-term success. The course emphasizes the importance of ethical practices, following legal rules, measuring results, and making sure funding activities match the organization’s mission and goals.
