ECON 3120 APPLIED STATISTICS IN BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL ECONOMICS
This course provides essential training and skills in statistical and analytical methods in business, economics and finance. The course covers multiple regression with diagnostics, time-series forecasting, financial analytics, Monte Carlo simulation, linear optimization, and the emerging role of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in business and economic and financial analysis. Students work in Microsoft Excel to apply methods to real, publicly available economic datasets. Students will conduct an original applied analysis, use AI tools critically, and present data-driven policy or business recommendations in assignments including a team-based project.
