ENG 3003 SPOKEN WORD POETRY

This course will start with the study of spoken word poetry of the 1960s/1970s moving up through the 1990s to the explosive popularity of spoken word in the new millennium. Students will write and perform original poems with an optional visit to the legendary Nuyorican Poets Cafe and participation in a poetry slam.
