ACCT 3800 ACCOUNTING INFORMATION SYSTEMS

The course Accounting Information Systems builds on the principles, rules, and procedures students have learned in previous accounting courses. The overall course objective is (1) to familiarize students with the way in which accounting systems are used in business organizations to provide decision-relevant information and (2) to enable them to understand how systems are designed and implemented to meet organizational needs. This course will also provide students with tutorials and hands-on practice in Microsoft Excel, ACCESS, Tableau, Celonis, and Python programming to perform essential tasks in database management and data analytics, specifically tailored to the accounting information systems domain.
