Fine Arts, M.A.: Supervision Certification Option
Program Description:
The M.A. in Fine Arts: Supervision Certification Option is a 30-credit program designed for certified art teachers who desire additional educational background for career advancement, and certification for supervisory and administrative positions. In some cases, school districts will provide financial support for teachers wishing to pursue this graduate degree.
Admission Requirements:
In addition to the University’s admission requirements:
- New Jersey Teaching Certification in Art Education
- A departmental interview involving an assessment of the applicant studio portfolio
- Proficiencies in academic writing
- Undergraduate grade records
- GRE (Graduate Record Exam) or MAT (Miller Analogies Test) scores taken within the past five years
- Evidence of verbal communication skills
Degree Requirements:
- 30 credits of coursework
- Three years public school teaching experience upon completion of Program
- Final written thesis
