The Athletic Coaching minor provides a strong foundation for students to learn and address the physical, social, and psychological needs of the student athlete. Students will be able to apply this specialized knowledge and expertise in the field of coaching to their major discipline of study (e.g., community recreation, psychology, physical education, global fitness and wellness, athletic training, education), and thus increase their employment opportunities. It will provide opportunities to enhance skills in communication and increase understanding of the interdisciplinary approaches in various settings. Students will acquire the skills necessary to help transform the quality of life of children in an athletic setting.
